We took a daytrip into downtown Spokane not really knowing what to expect but we happened upon the 30th Annual PIG OUT IN THE PARK! It's a large outdoor festival where they have every kind of deep fried food you can imagine and more.
We settled on some grilled corn dipped in hot butter and some fish tacos... Yummy! I've never seen a festival like this, it was definitely interesting and I'm sure I could of left there with a big bellyache but we did good and all left happy.

See it's true! I took a picture of the paper for the day.

Coeur D'Alene has a really beautiful park right by the lake. We went there one evening and hung out while the sun was setting, it was quite nice. Eliseo followed this seagull all over the park. They were playing a little game, the bird would let Eliseo get close and then he would take off and then let him catch up a bit and then take off again. This went on for a while until he flew off and left Eliseo standing there all alone...

So he found his Daddy and they went for a walk on the boardwalk.

A swing built for two in the Park! This was a huge outdoor park with a wood carpet floor which seemed really nice, until we realized that it seemed to be infested with mice! YUCK!

We went for a small hike on Tub Hill in Coeur D'Alene. Eliseo started out on Dad's shoulder and then insisted on walking all by himself, up and down the rocky paths. He wouldn't hold our hand at all and he did really good. In all, I'd say he walked about 2 km, preety far for a little guy.

Stopping to enjoy the view and wait for Alexa to come back from the bushes... AHEM
Eliseo is absolutely fascinated by cars and trucks and trains. Actually he thinks anything with wheels is a car which is quite funny because this means he stops and points out "CARS" when we see all sorts of wheely things such as, wheelchairs, bicycles, sliding gates with wheels, recylcling carts etc. By the end of the trip he had learned to identify and verbalize both Trucks, he calls them Tuts and a bus which he pronounces perfectly. Our hotel room had a view of the freeway which I would usually groan about, but not this time. The freeway view kept him occupied from the moment he woke up. So we had to stop in Sparwood, BC on the way home to visit THE BIGGEST TRUCK IN THE WORLD or so it calls itself. He was in awe as he saw the wheels his eyes bugged out and he was kicking to get out of the carseat and go see.

All in all it was a good trip and we had lots of fun. We got some shopping in and I had the best omelette that I've ever had at IHOP on our last day, why don't we have IHOP here it was great. I think though that I will hesitate before I decide to spend 5 days in a hotel again with a teenager and a toddler, that definitley had it's challenges but we survived and are better for it!
