Dirt, Tools & Lot's of Fun

There's something about little boys that make it EASIER to just let them get dirty. I let Alexa play and get dirty plenty of times but there just always seemed to be an underlying worry about ruining her clothes or looking like a big mess. This weekend, I had so much fun just letting Eliseo let loose and get super dirty while out with Dad working on the fence. Notice the very dirty legs and hands, but also the big smile. He had a blast! We had to give him TWO baths afterwards to get him clean and his clothes are now designated play clothes, because I can't get the grass stains out of the knees.

It's fascinating to watch him play in this type of environment. He was picking up different tools or hardware and moving them from one box or shelf to another. He would take things that were round and fit them together with round holes and square things with square things. I have a feeling he will have his Dad's abilities with a hammer and nail. He would follow his Dad around and try to pick up what his Dad put down. When Daddy grabbed some hardware that he needed from a box, Eliseo was watching and he went and picked out all the rest of the pieces from the box and brought them over, one by one, to his Daddy. What a helper! He even tried sneaking into Dad's toolbelt when he could. Hmmm, what does he keep in there that jingles when he walks... I can hear thim thinking.
