Apple Harvest

We have a large apple tree in our backyard, this year it has really grown and it's the time of year to start harvesting the apples. This means I bake pies and cakes and all kinds of other apple treats in order to use all the apples. I think this year I'll make some applesauce for Eliseo too! Alonso has been taking Eliseo out all spring and summer and showing him the manzana's as they grow from beautiful flowers to big apples, so it was only appropriate to include him in the apple picking as well.

Alonso picking the Manzanas
The first thing he tried to do was eat the basket!
Then he knocked the basket over and got a little surprised
Then, he picked the basket back up and played with them for a little while. Every now and again Dad would throw more down from the tree.

Afterwards, Dad shared some of his apple with Eliseo. He didn't like them much, these particular apples are more tart than sweet and the first bite can be a little sour.
